Billions and Billions In a new ad, Meg Selfe, IBM's Vice President, VP, Embedded & Complex Systems states that "66% of new products have some kind of intelligence built in." I don't know where IBM found that statistic, but microprocessors seem to be everywhere, not just in computers and cell phones. I'm thinking of cars, appliances, industrial machinery, building systems, and so on. And, where there is a microprocessor, there is software, data and potentially networks and data analysis. So, here's the question -- how will traditional sales channels develop the skills to sell, install and support all of these new "smart" products? Let me know what you think.
